Summertime is here and I could not be more excited for the fashion the warm weather brings us. There are a lot of exciting and fun options out there, and I wanted to highlight some of my favorites that I either can't wait to wear or am already currently rocking.
1) The Bell Sleeve
I love a top that can be so versatile. This can go easily from day to night and the sleeves on it are like an accessory themselves! Wear casual with jean shorts or dress it up with a skirt or pants. The possibilities are endless.
This look is something you will see everywhere this summer. A favorite shop of mine in Nashville often gets a straw bag in stock, but it always sells out faster than I can drive there. Sad times... Ha! Anyhow, if you happen to snag one do not be afraid to wear this with everything. It can be considered a neutral in my book so it make it your go to all summer long!
3) Gingham Is The New Black
This print is so hot right now! The two items showcased here are actually things Marena and myself own, so you can be sure that we will be rocking these this season. The best part of it, is that this print looks amazing when you add a pop of color with an accessory, like some hot pink earrings or a lime green tote. The possibilities are endless!
4) Print Pants
You probably think I am crazy for recommending pants, but trust me these will be a favorite. Make sure you get your pants in linen, silk or any other light fabric. These can be dressed down with sandals or taken into the night with some heels. I love tucking in a plain white tee and calling it a day.
(Also, can we say hallelujah that JCrew's website allows you to see an item on different sized models! Such a win for body positivity!)
5) Pastel Sneakers (Vans are always my fave)
Anyone that knows me can tell you that I have had an obsession with Vans sneakers since probably as early as middle school. Watching Lords of Dogtown as a teenager also further aided the obsession, ha! However, this love for skater sneaks has brought me into adult life as a real trendsetter. You can see a variety of designers trying to mimic the slip-on skater shoe or a variation of it. I say stick with the originals, plus Vans is really amazing the way they manufacture their shoes, so you are putting your money into a company that cares.
*Stepping off my soapbox* Anyways, what better way to add some color and comfort to nearly any outfit than with some colorful sneakers.
Again, another staple that has been added to my closet is the cotton and silk scarf. Collect them in many patterns and colors and watch how it can instantly transform an outfit to Instagram ready! Plus, people will look at you and think, "this chic knows her stuff!". You can find these at almost any trendy retailer, but I love getting mine at thrift stores for the best worn in feel.
While I realize I failed to show an actual pin or button here, I did just purchase the pin version of these earrings at a local market over the weekend. I plan on wearing mine on my jean jacket, but you can add them to your hat, purse, button-up shirt, and even blazer for some fun at work. It is an easy and affordable way to show off your personality!
I hope you all enjoyed this post and got some inspiration out of it. Remember fashion is meant to be fun, so let your personality shine through and allow yourself to gravitate to the trends that makes sense to you!
